Shopping for classic pieces that have a hint of trend has always been my jam, especially when I’m on the hunt for transitional pieces mid-season. Luckily, I’ve been having fun adding new pieces to my virtual cart because the selection out there is just what I need: a jolt of bold color, easy to wear, and versatile enough to layer if the weather is chillier than expected.
My co-workers from L.A. to New York City are all on the same boat as I am. As editors, we’re careful about the trends and classics we decide to incorporate into our wardrobes, which means we frequent J.Crew regularly for the best of both worlds. Fashion editors Eliza Huber, Anneliese Dominguez, and Aniyah Morinia are all excited about what’s to come, from new dresses that stun to fisherman sandals you’ll soon be seeing everywhere. What are your favorite spring trends, and how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe this season?
I’m not usually one to choose a bright color over a neutral one, but after seeing the saturated hues on the S/S 22 runways, I’ve found myself wanting to test them out more and more. No, I won’t be going head-to-toe hot pink or cerulean, but I do love the idea of incorporating statement colors in small doses and mixing them with more tonal pieces. For now, I’ll probably stick with adding one big color moment to my looks for spring, throwing on a silk skirt or scarf in a louder shade and pairing that with lightweight knits and chino outerwear that will balance out the look.
When it comes to dressing up, how do these J.Crew pieces get you in the spring mood?
I always find transitioning my wardrobe to a new season pretty tricky in the beginning, but one of the best ways to get through that awkward period is to dive right in. That’s exactly what I did with these J.Crew pieces, especially the brightly colored maxi skirt and open-toe shoes. It was so nice to go out and feel breezy again after what felt like a decade in heavy knits and outerwear. To keep the look seasonally appropriate—it isn’t spring quite yet in NYC—I added a lightweight knit polo, which tied the whole look together. I can’t wait to test this skirt out with a cropped tank or bra top and heeled sandals once the weather warms up.
How would you describe your personal style?
At its core, my style is pretty classic and traditional. I love a little black dress worn with boots and jeans paired with a tee and some loafers. Then again, I do really like to experiment. More and more, my style has ventured outside of just the realm of womenswear. I’ve been testing out a lot of menswear trends and items. Mostly, my biggest thing is that I don’t like to limit myself in the style department. If I see something that I like or that I think is cool, I’m going to wear it, even if it doesn’t necessarily fit into the aesthetic box that people would put me in.

What are your favorite spring trends, and how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe this season?
I’m a huge fan of color for spring. My style often follows the standard format of a neutral base with a splash of color, and I’m excited to continue that this upcoming season. I’m eyeing colorful outerwear and accessories to spice up the muted pieces in my looks.
When it comes to dressing up, how do these J.Crew pieces get you in the spring mood?
Aside from the time I spend working from home every day, I absolutely love getting dressed up for brunches, nights out, and walks around the city. I’m wearing a lightweight trench coat in a beautiful green shade. The leaves haven’t fully been restored yet in NYC, but this coat gives me that spring feeling. The color blocking of the purse and coast paired with the all-white dress screams spring, and I’m all ears.
Tell us what you like about each piece from J.Crew and the different ways you would style it.
I love the knotted detail of the white dress because it creates a small cutout that feels sexy while still being subtle. I’ll be reaching for this dress when it’s warm enough to wear it solo. The trench coat is bound to be a closet hero for me this season. I’ll happily pair it with jeans and a white tee or a patterned top and a miniskirt. The possibilities are endless. The pink bag really pulled this look together, adding an element of fun to an otherwise neutral look.

What are your favorite spring trends, and how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe this season?
I’m always a sucker for a good suiting situation. In winter, I was all about wool blazers and thicker trousers, but this spring, I’m incorporating breezy, lightweight materials like this tan Eco Cupro set.
When it comes to dressing up, how do these J.Crew pieces get you in the spring mood?
I can already imagine wearing this ‘fit to so many events this season. It’s perfect for the office, coffee dates, sunset dinners—you name it. I love that you can dress it up or down for any occasion. And the pops of color? A spring dream.
How would you describe your personal style?
I never like to put my style into a box because I think I’m constantly changing things up! But I’m someone who turns to basics around 90% of the time. I like timeless pieces that I can wear year after year.
